Egyptian Mission Luncheon – postponed

September 14, 2022 @ 11:30 am - 2:00 pm

Pastor Scott is on the Advisory Council for a nonprofit called Hands Along the Nile Development Services (HANDS), which is based in northern Virginia and supports Presbyterian-run efforts in Egypt to raise the quality of life for vulnerable communities there. Their work includes microloans, vocational training, interfaith peace-building, and capacity building for young leaders and activists. You can read more about them here: http://www.handsalongthenile.org. Many of the roots of their 32 years of investment in Egypt are in our church communities here in Pittsburgh.

HANDS’ Executive Director, Jennifer Cate, will be coming to Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 11:30. Anyone is welcome to join members of several local churches for lunch to hear about the exciting work they are engaged with in Egypt with women, youth, people with disabilities, and the poorest communities. They have exciting stories to tell about the long-standing work of Presbyterians in Egypt. (Some APC members remember in the 1980s when Presbyterian mission workers Jack and Mary Lou Lorimer, who serve with Scott in Egypt, visited APC and spoke.)

UDATE:  Unfortunately, this event has been postposed.  We will post a new date and time once it has been established.  Thank you for your understanding.
