SUMMARY:Fallen Firefighters Recognition
DESCRIPTION:Aspinwall Presbyterian Church invites the community to help us honor fallen firefighters—especially meaningful this year with the recent loss of Aspinwall firefighter Warren VanEvery. We hope community members will join us in ringing bells at 10:30 am on Sunday\, October 4. \nHow you can take part: \nFrom 10:30-10:40\, either join members of Aspinwall Presbyterian Church by ringing our handbells at designated spots around town or go out onto your own porch with a bell or a sound effect downloaded from YouTube and ring from 10:30-10:40. \nThose who would like to ring bells should notify Rev. Scott Hill that you will be coming (pastor@aspinwallchurch.org). Some will be asked to come to the church at 10:15 and disperse to locations around town. Please bring gloves\, as the bells should not be handled with bare hands. Social distancing will be practiced and masks must be worn. \nThere will be a brief prayer on the church steps\, 299 Center Ave.\, at 10:40 involving Rev. Hill and Aspinwall VFD Chaplain Michael Troyan.

Presently\, she is serving as a chaplain (CPE Extern) at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Rebecca has called Pittsburgh home for the last eight years\, after moving here to attend the University of Pittsburgh\, where she earned a master’s degree. With a background in journalism and international development\, Rebecca has worked in various countries in North Africa and Europe. She volunteers as a high school soccer coach and with Humane Animal Rescue.
