As Roots of Faith becomes an independent interfaith non-profit with six congregational partners (including us), we are looking for new ways to work together. We hope you’ll take part in our monthly Interfaith Bible Study, co-led by Pastor Scott Hill, Rabbi Yaier Lehrer of Adat Shalom Synagogue, and Pastor Angelique Edmonds of Faith UMC.
Each month, they will look at a different set of scriptures—sometimes our shared scriptures of the Hebrew Bible, other times a pairing of New Testament passages with passages from the Hebrew Bible that shed light on them. The sessions take place on Wednesdays, 6:00 -7:30 p.m., beginning with a half hour of worship. First two sessions are October 30 (Psalms 23 and 121) and November 13 (the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1 and the stories of five women named there).
Our next opportunities to serve at the Neighborhood Table are October 10 and November 14.
