Lynne Williams, Music Director
Aspinwall Presbyterian Church
Originally from Endwell, NY, Lynne
graduated from the College of Wooster, OH with a degree in Music Education. She
taught elementary vocal music, and studied and performed with the Tri-Cities
Opera in Binghamton from 1972 until 1978 when she moved to Pittsburgh to attend Carnegie-Mellon University. She holds a Masters in Fine
Arts in Opera from C-MU and has performed opera, recitals, and oratorio in Pittsburgh, Grand Rapids, Michigan, as well as Binghamton and Wooster. She has studied with Frances
Yeend, James Benner, Peyton Hibbitt and Carmen Savoca.
Lynne
was a Metropolitan Opera District winner and also performed on the Pittsburgh
Concert Society roster. Lynne performed
with the Chautuaqua Symphony Orchestra as a winner of a Sigma Alpha Iota
competition. She has sung works such as
Handel’s “Messiah,”
Haydn’s “Creation,”
Bach’s “Easter Oratorio” and
“Magnificat,” Mozart’s “Requiem,” and
Beethoven’s
“Ninth Symphony” with the Bach Choir and Mendelssohn Choir
of Pittsburgh, the
Westmoreland Symphony and Choral Society and the St. Vincent College
Choir.
She is an
adjunct voice teacher at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA.Lynne is Music Director for the Aspinwall Presbyterian Church where
she serves as organist and directs the Chancel Choir, Bell Choir and Joyful
Noise Choir. Lynne has a private studio
of 20 piano and voice students. She and
her husband Glen live in Springdale, PA.
